New Zealand funding sources for cycling advocacy groups.

ideas and resources for World Car-free day, Monday 22 September 2008

CAN has established the "Local Group Fund" which has $700 per annum to assist local cycling advocacy groups affiliated to CAN.

Local groups may apply for up to $200 for projects where the local group is prepared to contribute a minimum 20% (eg: claim $200 for a $250 project) or apply for 100% funding of projects up to $100 in cost.Download Application Form as PDF or MS Word DOC.

Minutes of meeting
CAN/Bike NZ indicated the meeting was a result of the two recent accidents involving cyclists and motorists. CAN/Bike NZ believe these accidents could have been avoided if key recommendations it has long been advocating had been adopted – CAN/Bike NZ want to know why these recommendations haven’t been adopted.
